W.V. Festival Organizers Deny Liability For Death

KINGWOOD, W.V. (AP) - Producers of the All Good Music Festival in West Virginia deny responsibility for an accident that killed one South Carolina woman and injured two others.

Maryland-based Walther Productions filed its responses to a lawsuit this week in federal court.

In July, a pickup rolled down a steep slope at Marvin's Mountaintop in Masontown and crashed into the women's tent. Both survivors and the dead woman's father have sued more than a dozen defendants for negligence.

The Dominion Post says Walther has filed cross-claims against its co-defendants, including Virginia-based security provider Event Staffing Inc.

Walther says Event Staffing should be held responsible because it had a duty to control any potentially dangerous situations.

In its own court filings, Event Staffing denies any wrongdoing and is seeking dismissal.
