Washington County under Level 1 Snow Emergency

Washington County is now under a Level 1 Snow Emergency.

This means roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow, and roads may also be icy.

Motorists are urged to drive very cautiously.

Due to expected freezing rain overnight, Washington County is now under a Level 2 Snow Emergency.

Sheriff Larry Mincks says northern parts of the county are already seeing freezing rain and sleet. They ask anyone on the roads to use caution, and only drive if absolutely necessary.

Officials say to call your employer in the morning and make sure you are still supposed to report to work. Road conditions may be slick at that time.

Sheriff Mincks also says he expects they will reduce the level of emergency at some point in the morning after they inspect. roadways and conditions.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says the entire county has moved to a Level 2 Snow Emergency.

Blowing snow and slick roadways are creating hazardous conditions for drivers.

Officials say to call your employer and see if you have to report for work.

Authorities also say to only drive if it is absolutely necessary. Snow and ice are to blame for several accident across the Mid-Ohio Valley Friday.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says the entire county is under a Level 1 Snow Emergency.

This is a general warning that roads are starting to become snow covered and slippery.

It could be potentially hazardous to drive and the Sheriff's Office along with Ohio State Highway Patrol were called out to several wrecks Friday due to the winter weather conditions.

Officials ask drivers to try and limit travel because roadways are hazardous. They are continuing to monitor conditions.
