UPDATE: Deputies Say Woman 'Lucky To Be Alive' Following Accident

New information on a single car accident Wednesday night that sent one woman to the hospital.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office says it happened just after 8:30 p.m. on the Williamstown overpass.

Deputies say 21-year-old Deveena Drake of Parkersburg was driving toward Marietta, when she last control of her car, struck the concrete barrier, flipped over and was ejected out of her car.

Drake was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.

Officials say she's lucky to be alive.

A woman is ejected from her vehicle Wednesday night.

One on car was involved.

Would County 911 dispatchers say she was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment. Her condition is unknown at this time.

It happened just after 8:30 pm on 1-77 N just past the Williamstown overpass.

Traffic was backed up for nearly an hour.

Both lanes have since reopened.
