A high speed chase through Parkersburg ended on Route 14 Thursday afternoon.

It started with Parkersburg officers sent to find what they call a habitual thief who lost her probation.

West Virginia State Police Sgt. William Marshall says Mary Green took off, leading Parkersburg Police, Wood County deputies and the state police on a high speed chase.

They finally ended up in Mineral Wells at I-77 and Route 14, but not before officers say Green tried to crash into a least one cruiser.

"When she exited here at Mineral Wells she began to continue southbound, she changed directions and came back northbound, changed directions one more time, ran into the path of one of our canine units here with the Wood County Sheriff's Department. Thankfully the officer wasn't injured," Marshall says.

He says Green made a harmful and purposeful attempt to try to flee and injure that officer and hit his car.

The Parkersburg Police Department took her into custody based on outstanding warrants and the revocation of her probation.
