A Parkersburg woman was taken to a Columbus hospital after a bad crash in Washington County Sunday afternoon.
It happened around 3:15 on McGill road, off of Route 339.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says it took emergency responders 25 minutes to free 32-year-old Erica Barrett and her 5-year-old son.
The crash trapped the two inside the Pontiac and left the mother seriously injured.
Fortunately, she's expected to recover and her 5-year-old son is ok.
"She struck a tree, came across the road, pretty serious injuries," says Ernie Hoschar, chief of the Dunham Volunteer Fire Department. "I don't think at this time it's anything life threatening. But she was flown by helicopter to Columbus."
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
They're trying to figure out what caused the crash.
Crews on scene say the driver said she was not distracted.
