After recognizing their own students, Wood County's school district received its own award at the board of education meeting Monday night.

Honoring all 28 schools in the district, AdvanceED presented a banner and plaque for the district's accreditation, making it the first in the state.

Also for summer construction, all letters of intent have been sent to schools and vendors.

The school building administration is currently considering seven additional items for Edison Middle School's construction project.

Incoming superintendent John Flint also proposed re-organizing of the board of education's administration, which includes reworking the job description of the deputy superintendent to take on some responsibilities of the human resources department.
