It's an annual event that needs volunteers to make it happen -- now it's going to brighten downtown Parkersburg in the spring rather than the fall.
Taste of Parkersburg is actively looking to hire at least 150 people.
Carrie Nesselrode, executive director of Downtown PKB says there's reserved seating this year so they need additional volunteers.
Having the event in the spring allows more of the wine vendors to participate and it's an opportunity to present more wines to the public.
“Our volunteers are crucial; we usually have over 150 volunteers that help us pull the event off,” Nesselrode says. “We have volunteers needed in every aspect, from taking tickets and selling vendor tickets to being wine pourers to helping us with set up and cleanup.”
Nesselrode has already started recruiting through downtownpkb.com.
A community meeting on April 9 at 5 p.m. at the Blennerhassett Hotel will address all the volunteer needs they have, not just for Taste of Parkersburg, but the concert series and more.
