It requires a weird freakish Hollywood mindset to take a somewhat innocent comic book chracter and attach to it a sense of evil and depravity. The real magic is that only the dumbed-down Hollywood fan can reverse the role of super-hero and make the villians the idols and the "wannabes" of young minds.

Murder is illegal, drugs are illegal, it's illegal to be in this country without going through legal immagration... guess what, murder, drug abuse, illegal immigration are all rampant!
If just one of the active or ex-military in that theater had been carrying a firearm, the story would have had a far different outcome. I want to see managers and selected employees ARMED from now on in a public place of business!
I believe there should have been a panic alert alarm sounded when the emergency exit of the movie theater was breeched...we see them in every public facility around here...maybe there is more public safety issues that need to be addressed across the country...Let's go Homeland Security...what are we paying you for???
Banning guns will not prevent criminals from getting them. Criminals, by definition, ignore the law.
Keeping children up late for a special event is not bad parenting....to any who have posted this I ask, did your children ever get to bring in a "New Year" with you? If so, shut up, no different! Oh, right anonymous...take guns from law abiding citizens, then only criminals will have them...The theater had a no guns policy. Everyone obeyed except the shooter.

Word. All it would have taken is one person licensed and carrying concealed to stop the madness in its tracks. Get educated, arm yourself. At worst, it is an extra 1/2 pound of useless metal. At best, it would prevent loss of life in something so horrific.
