Early voting is drawing to a close in Washington County as officials gear up for 'Super Tuesday.'
Washington County residents only have until Friday to vote early at the Court House. Early voting ends at 6:00 p.m. Friday night. On Tuesday, Ohioans heading out to cast their vote will have to go to their specified poll location.
Washington County Board of Elections Director Peggy Byers says early voting numbers are surprisingly low this year.
"We've seen under 2,000 voters this time," Byers explains. "We were expecting better than that. If that trend follows it looks like maybe 25% of the people may vote this time. In 2008, we just looked at the numbers, close to 50% voted. We're not sure why the enthusiasm is so far down this time."
Byers says she's hoping to see a more robust turn out Friday and on 'Super Tuesday.'
