Actually, it's a terrible law that will do nothing worthwhile and there are no Americans who support it. I think for people like you, you should work with your criminal legislators and try to get a law passed that will require your nanny government to assign a government employee to you, people like you, and your children. That employee will go everywhere with you and hold your hand while you try to get through life. That should protect you all. Your personal government employee can tell you what to do and not do and can call in additional employees as needed to deal with your situations. Of course, they will completely protect you on Facebook. What you fans of big nanny governments should be asking is - why doesn't this law apply to anyone who has committed a crime? The fact that it doesn't proves what a bunch of scumbags the people who support this law are. The law is about stupid people, not sex crimes.

I think that is a great idea. If law enforcement thinks that the offenders are changing accounts they could check their computers and things to find out for sure and if they are they the offenders can get locked up. Children everywhere would and needs to be safe from people like that and also solicitators too they need the same treatment . If it was me i would just lock them away for the max time to make sure noone else does it . It will show others that they would be punished and what the punishment would be then they would not dare to do it unless they are stupid.

The sex offender registry itself creates a false sense of security as it is. Although it does happen and has happened, the people that aim to sexually violate other people, particularly children, aren't lurking behind bushes or creeping on Facebook. They're already trusted individuals... family members, family friends, teachers, coaches, etc. Don't think that just because the "sex offender" is made to declare himself or herself so that there isn't another skulking about in secrecy somewhere within your inner circle. Requiring sex offenders to post on their social networking site what they are only contributes to that false sense of security. FRegistryTerrorists and Dave are absolutely right in their points. When do we start protecting everyone from everyone? When is enough, enough? I personally, don't find any comfort in the sex offender registry, and think it only exists to further perpetuate paranoia. The government likes it when we're scared.

getting a Dui even though is no better, can not be compared to sex offenders and predators. And as for the hitting my wife remark if she stays at least she has a choice children do not have the choice when it comes to someone raping them!!!! I say protect our children whatever it takes and how ever we can.

Yes, unfortunately it happens a lot more frequently than people realize. There are many children subjected to negative talk and vicious lies about one parent from the other in a lot of divorce situations. After years of this it can lead to many false allegations of abuse and CPS referrals. This can go on to a criminal investigation, and ultimately a conviction. Just because someone has been indicted does not mean they are guilty. Not by a long shot. What the public doesn't realize is only very little of the "evidence" is given to the grand jury. They do not see the evidence of the lies that were told to the children over the years. Sadly there are many, many people sitting behind bars wrongfully convicted because the general public doesn't want to remove their blinders and see what parental alienation does to a child.

That is only for after your caught 3 times. Should they make people wear shirts that say I stole. Or carry a sign that says I hit my wife.

So typical of our nanny criminal governments. If people who have been convicted of a sex crime are required to do this, there are absolutely zero legitimate excuses for not requiring the same of ALL people who have been convicted of a crime. If we are going to have nanny governments, they need to get with it and start protecting everyone from everyone. This is just more proof that the SEX OFFENDER witch hunt is not really about "protecting children" or "public safety". Those are just the lies that are told to justify it all. All U.S. citizens, even including the pariah SEX OFFENDERS (!!!!!!!), have a constitutional right to anonymous speech. Any governments which enact bans from Facebook or pass laws such as this should be sued on those grounds in federal courts immediately. Further, there are no good Americans that support these laws.

I'm sure someone who plans to use Facebook to find a victim will totally comply with this, I mean they wouldn't want to break the law or anything...

What about the sex offenders who are not listed who committed crimes prior to the registration law? What about children (who are not even teenagers yet)being listed?

Why don't we just brand a scarlet letter on their forehead? That way we taxpayers would have to support them on welfare for the rest of their lives? Would that satisfy you jackles?

Great, everyone already thinks that I am a weirdo for not using Facebook, now they are going to think that I am a sex offender as well. Here is a radical idea, how about instead of passing more laws for every little thing people should just be a little more careful about the STRANGERS that they meet ON THE INTERNET. No laws needed whatsoever.

As if this is going to be enforceable. It is a waste of time and money. Parents should take responsibility for their children and monitor their online activity, not try to abdicate their duties by empowering a police state to do the work for them.
