Marietta Salvation Army Helping Out Those In Need
Local organizations across the valley are helping those who need food and water.
In Marietta, The Salvation Army opened its doors to those needing supplies.
They delivered most of their sandwiches and other supplies to the hard hit Newport and New Matamoras areas that are still mostly without power.
Volunteers say hundreds of people came get water and food and they're happy to help out the community.
"People are devastated, they don't know what to do. There's not a whole lot of resources out there, but I've been finding out more and hopefully when they come in I can give them that information," says Salvation Army Social Worker, Becky Place.
"We took food and supplies up there and we sat there from about 11-6 every night because their whole town was out and didn't have nobody up there."
She adds, they will be handing out vouchers for groceries since so many people lost food due to lack of refrigeration.
They'll continue to hand out supplies through next week.
