Flood damaged land in Happy Valley is getting some attention from WVU-Parkersburg, all courtesy of the Wood County Commission.
The commission leased it to the college.
It's land that was not part of a flood mitigation grant approved by FEMA several years ago.
Geni Astorg, the college's director of development, says the agricultural school will grow crops on an experimental basis, to be used for new culinary school.
The commission is still considering whether to lease land that was part of the federal grant.
