Interview At Five - Investors Talk Pro Ball in Parkersburg
Meeting at Blennerhassett Hotel to Discuss Parkersburg Baseball Team

There's interest in "playing ball" in Parkersburg.

A meeting aimed at finding out who might help bankroll a professional baseball franchise drew three dozen people.
That's a turnout organizers say might lead not only to a team, but a place for it to play.

"And there are others, some private individuals who are interested in it, there are some foundations," said Parkersburg Mayor Bob Newell. "If the ball league would come down here, and there's three or four people, that would give an indication that no one wants this. But the numbers, I think, speak volumes."

The meeting also drew the owner of the Washington Wild Things, whose stadium in Pennsylvania was visited last month by city and local development leaders, as well as the Frontier League commissioner.
