Financial Assistance - Department of Jobs and Family Services
Recovering from the devastation of the storm last week won't be easy for anyone-- but some families have been left looking for help.
The Washington County Department of Job and Family Services will have a little money assistance for some affected by the storm.
Director, Tom Ballengee says the county has received only $30,000 in federal funds to help needy families in all of Washington County. They also have $75,000 to help serve elderly and disabled individuals.
The department will be accepting application on a first come first serve basis, one per household.
Those eligible can receive their choice of a $100 for gasoline or $100 for food card or a combination is offered with $50 of both food and gas.
Applications can be turned in from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Monday, July 9.
Applications will be accepted until Aug. 2, although it is first come first serve.
