Tracking Dog Saves Man's Life

Little Hocking Man Saved by Tracking Dog

It took over an hour to find a missing man in Little Hocking and the Washington County Sheriff's Office tracking dog is being called... a hero, saving the man's life.

The Sheriff's Office says the dog, Beauford, saved a little hocking man before it was too late.

Deputies say the man wandered off into the woods after taking possibly too much prescription medication.

After searching for more than an hour and covering two miles, Beauford found him.

"When we found the individual he was shallow breathing and incoherent and we're pretty sure if it weren't for Beauford, he wouldn't have made it," says Deputy Bradley Holbert.

The man's condition is not known at this time.
He was taken to Camden Clark Medical Center.
