Man's Name Released In Fatal High Speed Chase

West Virginia State Police are releasing the name of a man fatally shot by officers after a high speed chase.

Police say 35 year old Craig Keith of Charleston died Friday afternoon at Charleston Area Medical Center.

It all started around 2:00 Friday morning at the Mardi Gras Casino and Resort in Nitro, where police answered a disturbance call at the business.

Police say when they got there, Keith ran away and took off in a SUV toward Charleston. He led them all the way to Lincoln County, where he turned around and headed back toward Jackson County.

Police put spike strips down near the Fairplain exit and that's where the chase ended.

Police say Keith was ignoring officers commands and making threats when he got out of the vehicle.

Keith's criminal history includes a DUI in Pennsylvania. Police say an acquaintance told them Keith said if he got pulled over again for a DUI, he wasn't going to jail and would do whatever it took to stay out.
