The City of Parkersburg is helping you beat the heat.

Parkersburg Mayor Bob Newell says the Southwood and City Park pools will be free to the public Friday due to the heat index.

Extra life guards will be on duty at both swimming pools for added safety.

You can head over anytime between noon to 6:00 Friday night.
