In this week's edition of the Mid-Ohio Valley's Most Wanted we have for you a Belpre man, wanted for Malicious Wounding and Animal Cruelty.

Parkersburg Police Chief Gerald Board says Monday, August 3, Michael Vanfossen went down by the Little Kanawha River, behind the Salvation Army, where people are living in tents.

He says Vanfossen ordered a couple out of their tent and threatened to kill their dog.

He says Vanfossen and the male occupant of the tent got into a scuffle and in the process, Vanfossen cut him three times with a knife and stabbed the couple's dog.

"Anytime someone commits a crime of this nature, and I don't know what provoked it, I consider them dangerous. If they're capable of doing it once, they're certainly capable of doing it again," says Chief Board, Parkersburg Police.

Chief Board says the couple was able to get away from Vanfossen and call 9-1-1, but their dog died from the stab wound.

Vanfossen faces one to five years behind bars for each charge.

Chief board believes Vanfossen is still in the area.

So, if you have any information on where he could be, please call the Parkersburg Police Department at 304-424-8444.
