One of West Virginia's top talents in girls high school basketball has already settled on her college plans.
Parkersburg South's Taryn McCutcheon will be Big Ten bound when her high school days are over
WTAP has learned that the Patriots sophomore has made a verbal commitment to attend Michigan State University.;
McCutcheon burst on to the high school scene with an outstanding freshman season this past winter
The Patriot point guard could do it all. McCutcheon averaged just under 17 points a game. She also dealt out 7 assists, pulled down 6 rebounds, and came away with 3 steals a a game as well.
Taryn helped lead the Lady Patriots to the Class AAA State Championship and earned first team honors on the All State basketball team.
Her skills also caught the eye of college recruiters. Michigan State was so impressed with Taryn and her abilities that they offered Taryn a scholarship and she accepted with her verbal commitment.
The Lady Spartans are coached by Suzy Merchant. But she will have to wait, Taryn had 3 more seasons on the high school level.
