Comfort Keepers of the Mid-Ohio Valley is seeing that our seniors have nutritional food in their homes - but they need your help!
Once again, as the winter months are coming, Comfort Keepers of the Mid-Ohio Valley is going to be collecting food for Senior Citizens. We begin our food drive in late August and run through the end of October. We place our food collection bins in area WalMarts, IGA's and banks. For the past 2 years we've been working with Faith Link to create Blizzard Boxes for Seniors, as well as with the Marietta Food Bank. We've collected over 5,000 pounds of food in the past two years! This year we're hoping to add at least another 3,000 pounds to that number.
At least one in nine seniors is at-risk of going hungry due to the inability to obtain nutrient dense food. Comfort Keepers is collecting nutrient rich food (Soup, Tuna, Oats, Peanut butter) and partnering with Faithlink in WV and the Washington Community Action and Resource Center who will deliver the food to seniors in need.
