According to the 2003 America’s Best Colleges guide by U.S. News and World Report, it rates WVU-P as having the lowest percentage of graduates with debt.

“West Virginia has one of the lowest college-going rates in the country, so we believe we can impact that access by keeping tuition as affordable as possible, and yet keeping the quality of our programs without impacting the affordability we provide,” comments Connie Dziagwa, a WVU-P spokesperson.

The magazine's article says only 35 percent of WVU-P’s students graduate with any kind of debt.

College President Erik Bitterbaum says the Parkersburg campus also has the lowest community college tuition in West Virginia.
