A bell was ringing loud and proud in Meigs County Sunday!

Meigs County got its bicentennial bell. They celebrated the occasion by allowing all veterans to ring the bell.

One of those veterans is county commissioner Jim Sheets.

"This bell shows not only liberty and freedom but the will of the people and the enthusiasm we have her for veterans, and all those involved in this."

Meigs County is the 42nd county in the Buckeye State to get a bell. All of Ohio’s 88 counties will get a bell before Ohio turns 200 in 2003.
