Do Ohio and West Virginia make the grade when it comes to high school graduation?
In a report released Wednesday, Ohio comes in 10th with 78 percent of students graduating.
West Virginia follows the Buckeye State coming in 20th, graduating 76 percent of students.
New Jersey had the highest graduation rate at 89 percent..
Trailing the other 49 states is South Carolina with a dismal rate of 53 percent.
The study was for graduating classes between 1991 and 2002.
Researchers also say the number of teens successfully completing high school varies greatly by race.
