A 13-year-old author from Washington County took his inspirational message to area elementary school students.
Travis Flores he author of "The Spider that Never Gave Up" spoke to the students Wednesday morning at Martin Elementary School in Parkersburg.
Through his short life, Flores has battled Cystic Fibrosis, a fight which he has turned into a successful book selling more than 3,500 copies so far.
Travis's message is, "Hold onto your dreams and never give up."
Doctors told Travis he wouldn't live past the age of five. Thursday is his 14th birthday. He says not done writing yet. He has five more books in the works.
Travis will be traveling to Chicago next week to speak at several schools in the area. This summer he is traveling to Los Angeles for the 50th Disney anniversary and the 25th annual Make-a-Wish reunion.
