Unemployment rates may be going up, but President Obama recently signed an initiative to help some of the biggest employers....small businesses.
It's called the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act or "JOBS."
The act includes key initiatives the president proposed last year to help small businesses grow and create jobs.
It also provides two key components to help benefit small businesses and entrepreneurs.
"One of those has to do with small businesses and their ability to go public and access additional funding and they can actually go public and be a long term viable entity in the community, " Director of the MOV Chamber of Commerce, Jill Parsons, says.
"For entrepreneurs, they will be able to access funding and capital in ways that they haven't been able to in the past. One of those will basically be online investing in new businesses and new startups that you or I could go online and if we see a venture that look very promising or exciting we can actually contribute to it online, " Parsons adds.
