A West Virginia college president crosses the river to push leadership and motivation into student minds.
WVU-P president, Dr. Marie Foster Gnage, spoke to a group at Marietta College Monday afternoon.
The event was the business school's first leadership question and answer session of the school year.
Gnage says as an African-American woman, it hasn't always been easy to achieve success.
Gnage says, "It may have taken me a little bit longer, but most of it is because I wanted to have that self-assurance that as I moved into positions, I would be prepared for those positions, so I don't know that it was more difficult, but I would say my route was perhaps a little bit different."
Gnage focused her discussion on leadership in higher education. She says to be a good leader, students need to focus their time now on studying, and gaining experience.
