Three years and still going strong. Stuff the Bus makes starting the new school year easier on teachers.

Lisa Collins, public relations coordinator for the West Virginia Central Credit Union says this year the Credit Union did things a little differently. They reached out to teachers to determine what they run out of and what kids really need.

"A lot of the school systems have to provide the supplies themselves but we know the reality is halfway through the year people run out of things, teachers run out. A lot of times the teachers end up buying additional supplies," Collins says. "Kids aren't always able to refurbish the supplies they need."

So teachers go to WVCC's Stuff the Bus to pick up things and put them directly in the hands of kids who are in need.

Collins says the Credit Union asked the community for donations of items that kids go through most -- crayons, pencils, glue sticks and consumable goods, and were overwhelmed at how generous everyone was.
