While heavy snow left its mark on our area this past weekend in Southern West Virginia, the weather was heavy rain.

At least two deaths have been reported in the flooding which happened Saturday, and continued into Sunday.

Two disasters at one time are taking their toll on the Red Cross, which is sending volunteers throughout the state.

"With all the things they encounter on the roads," says disaster worker Wilma Miller, "it takes a lot of people and a lot of resources. We've got 55 counties and almost all of them have been affected in some way by this storm."

The Red Cross continues to maintain its shelters in Jackson County, for people who remain without power from last weekend's snow and ice storms.
