The raids usually take place in the summer, but state police say both ample rain and sunshine during the past few months have caused pot plants to grow earlier than taller than normal.

The marijuana plants were found near a housing development in the Davisville area.

"This was relatively close to housing," says Trooper Mark Mayhugh. "Usually, it's not close to residential areas; the more common practice is to have it in a more secluded area. It was in a wooded area, but relatively close to housing."

The plants have an estimated total street value of $50,000. No arrests have been made.
