It's one of the oldest cemeteries in Wood County and Neale-Cook Cemetery has a storied history.
Buried there are veterans of five wars, including the Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Other notables buried there include President Andrew Jackson’s great grandfather and a relative of President Zachary Taylor.
Mayor Randy Rapp says Lowe’s, Peoples Bank, Sam's and the City of Vienna are getting together this Saturday, April 12th to clean up the cemetery.
“It's something we hope to do regularly and hope to get some civic involvement -- Boy Scout troops, some of the service clubs to come in and pick a month, clean up the trash; do those kind of things to make it look nice,” he says.
According to the mayor, the cemetery is on the National Historic Landmark Registry and we owe it to our veterans to maintain their gravesites; it's a good community project.
Everyone is welcome to take part from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., bring your gloves and a rake and they'll provide the trash bags.
