The names of 21 U.S. Special Operations troops killed in Afghanistan are now part of a memorial wall at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Among the names added is West Virginia native National Guard Sergeant Gene Vance Junior of Morgantown.

Vance was fatally shot May 19 in eastern Afghanistan.

The names were added today during a ceremony that was part of the Army Special Forces' 50th anniversary celebration.

At the end of Wednesday’s hour long ceremony, families of the fallen soldiers made rubbings of their names from the bronze plaque, and placed roses at the wall outside the special operations headquarters.
