A suspect is under arrest for allegedly phoning in Tuesday's bomb threat targeted at Parkersburg High School.

The individual, whose name has not been released, was detained by police shortly after students returned to classes, an hour and fifteen minutes after Tuesday's threat was called into the Wood County 911 Center.

The call was received shortly after 11:00 am.

Students were moved from classes to the PHS Field House. They returned to class around 1:00pm.

The suspect's bond was set at $50,000 dollars.

Wood Co. Schools Superintendent Bill Niday says that, if the individual is a student who is found guilty, he will then recommend to the Board of Education that the student be expelled from school.

Sorry Wayne! I was just going by other reports that I had heard also. I would also like to add that many people have assumed that the persons that were responsible for last years bomb threats were not punished or were not punished harshly. I would like to say that this is not the case. Just because the punishment of the persons involved last year did not make major headlines does not mean that they were not punished. When dealing with juvenile offenders, there is a great deal of confidentiality that comes into play. I know for a fact one of the offenders from last year is still spending time in a detention-type facility for the part he played.

the article did not say he was a juvenile.. but maybe they should be him in the regional jail in his own cell -- to see how he likes the big life.. it wants to play games and try to do stupid stuff-he can be in JAIL and not somewhere where he can get out when he is 21

To the person who said that the person would be on, the person that was arrested was a juvenile. Juveniles that are arrested are not put on that website.

Bomb Threats are dumb, Stop it, because our children needs that education time they are recieving. If you are a student, and your doing this, then realize this, it ain't cool, "SO DON'T DO IT"!!!

as a student at phs, i find the bomb threats not only a bother, but also a scare. most people think that all we want is to get out of class, but it's not like that for some students. people need to understand that even when noone says anything, we're all bothered by this and not one threat should be overlooked. the system of releasing students is ridiculous. my mother waited in like for one hour today to get me. when the threat is that there is a bomb inside the school, why would a parent need to wait a hour to get their child out of the safety hazard. going back in when a threat has been made is a lot to risk when it's just a day of school. administration needs to find a better way to handle emergancy situations, then maybe we'd quit having the reoccuring problems from past years.
