Ohio Valley College and the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation have launched a scholarship joint venture, thanks to the generous support of longstanding advocates of the college.
The Ohio Valley new scholarship fund has opened with a contribution of $10,000 with a donation from Mark and Peggy Kury.
By increasing scholarship offerings, the college will be able to provide better opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds, who are in need of education funding, to study at OVC.
This fund provides scholarships to students from the nine counties in West Virginia.
"This allows us to attract more and diverse students to our college and gives them the opportunity to supplement their funds to pay for their tuition. This new scholarship extend to Wood County and eight other counties in the Mountain State,” says founder Judy Sjostedt.
Interested persons are encouraged to send charitable contributions to support this new scholarship fund simply by mailing your donation, or calling the numbers listed below. The scholarship will be available to one student a year starting this January.
