The city decided not to open the pool this year because of sinkholes found underneath the facility.
A new pool and the remodeling of the present facility would cost about $600,000.
City leaders will have to find donations or somehow finance the project.
In the meantime, Belpre is having free playground activities at Civitan Park for the rest of the summer.
Recreation activities take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for children, ages 8 through 14.
