A Free Meal for Veterans

Hundreds of veterans and their families lined up outside the Golden Corral Monday evening for an annual veterans' dinner.

People from all branches of the military not only got a free meal, but also a chance to socialize with other veterans.

"I made a comment to a man outside, a lot of them look like the Vietnam age group. I see a few of the World War II and Korean War, which that was the time I was in the service," Sam Wharton, a U.S. Navy Veteran, said.

"I always enjoy seeing the old World War II Veterans like me; getting kind of scarce, but they're still around. At least I am," Edmond Crook, a Marine Corp Veteran, said.

Last year the Golden Corral fed about 800 people.

No word yet on how many attended the dinner this year.

Golden Corral is taking all the credit for giving the veterans free meals, and using it for advertising....when the employees there say they know for a fact that the government reimburses them for it....let's hear it for the government!!!
