A sergeant at the Wood County Sheriff's Department is finding himself on the other side of the law.

Sgt. Brent Gandee is now facing charges for two different incidents; one for failure to perform official duties, and another for battery.

According to one criminal complaint filed November 7th, Gandee responded to a call at the Comfort Suites in Mineral Wells, and failed to confiscate a jar of marijuana, as well as $2,500.

Another complaint, filed the next day, states that Gandee struck an auto-theft suspect twice.

Just a month ago Gandee received a prestigious law enforcement award from the United States Attorney's Office.

well u know i'm am glad because law enforcement officers think since they are in law enforcement they don't have to go by the law i'm glad this one is finding out that they do . there are bad police everywhere. don't get me wrong there are some that do go by the law but there are many that don't and they expect us too well if they don't why should we ?

this is all messed up i agree with babs he was only doing his job abd a poor auto theft suspect says he was stuck, well maybe he should have thought before he stole a vehicle again Gandee was doing his job... you want to talk about bad police go to belpre they have them there, they turn their back all the time on people doing drugs ( they have employee's working in city right now that our on drugs while at work ) and the police know this and dont so anything about it, but Gandee at least went after the Sheriff's son and got him in jail... Way to go Gandee you are one of the Good ones
