Almost a decade after the death of JonBenet Ramsey, a man has been arrested in connection with her murder.

Investigators have identified the suspect as 42-year-old John Mark Karr.

Federal officials, say Karr is already being held in Thailand on unrelated sex charges.

According to the Ramsey family's lawyer, Karr is a school teacher who once lived in Conyers, Georgia, not far from Atlanta, where the Ramsey's now live.

The lawyers aren't saying if the Ramseys know Karr.

JonBenet's father, John Ramsey, made a statement today saying he and his wife, Patsy, had been aware that there was a suspect in the murder case.

Patsy Ramsey died in June from ovarian cancer.

She was a Parkersburg native who represented the Mountain State as a former Miss West Virginia.

JonBenet's body was found in the basement of the family's home the day after Christmas.

JonBenet was six-years-old.
