The arrest of John Mark Karr comes recently after JonBenet's mother, Patsy Ramsey, lost her battle with ovarian cancer.
Patsy was a Parkersburg native whose roots ran deep in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Linda McLean was Patsy's Miss West Virginia coach and helped guide her to the Miss America pageant.
McLean says that she's thrilled that an arrest has been made in the murder case, even though it's nearly ten years after JonBenet was killed.
McLean says her first reaction to the arrest of John Mark Karr was a joyous one, but she remains cautious about jumping to any conclusions.
She says that Patsy knew there was a suspect investigators had targeted before she died in June.
McLean is confident that the District Attorney in Colorado will continue to work hard in the investigation.
She hopes that a conviction in this case will lift the negative image surrounding the Ramsey name.
