A Washington County man arrested in connection with a burglary was back in court Friday.

31-year-old Kenneth Sparks pleaded guilty to a third degree felony charge of burglary.

The crime happened back in December when authorities say Sparks entered the home of Frank Chutes in Marietta and stole nearly $10,000 worth of collectible coins, along with two handguns.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks said Sparks has a criminal history of breaking and entering.

Sparks is currently being held in the Washington County Jail without bond.

His sentencing is set for March 3rd.

Lock him away for a long time. People all over this area are stealing people's stuff like it is no huge deal. The thing is these people go and steal what people have worked to get for 10-20 years and then the robber gets 1 year probation. I think if the longevity of the sentence would change then you would see a lot less burglaries and robberies.
