Humane Society Searches for Shelter Manager

The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley is on the hunt for a new shelter manager.

Cheryl Byers stepped down from the position last week after holding the job for several years.

Since then the board has been taking applications to fill her spot.

Officials say it's a non-stop job and that Byers won't be easy to replace.

"There are big shoes to fill. I think the perfect person's out there someplace, we just need to find that person," Jane Snell, president of the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, said.

They plan to interview six applicants this Sunday, and hope to have the position filled by next Monday.

You know it's funny that they already have 6 applications and ready to interview this weekend and they haven't even posted the job in the paper. Sounds like an inside job. They will end up hiring a current employee or volunteer and shelter will be the same old--same old. When you hire someone from the outside with management skills, it will run better. Even tho it is a non-profit is still a business.
