A Parkersburg man will be granted mercy after being found guilty of murder and other charges.
Thursday, a Wirt County jury found 31-year-old Howard Murray guilty of first degree murder, burglary, destruction of property and 2 counts of battery.
The charges stem from an incident in February of 2008 when authorities say three men robbed 33-year-old Brent Butler and then stabbed him to death behind his home.
Murray was one of three suspects arrested after Butler's death.
The two other suspects 33-year-old Oscar Gibson and 20-year-old Corey Robinson reached plea agreements for the incident.
