A Parkersburg man will be granted mercy after being found guilty of murder and other charges.

Thursday, a Wirt County jury found 31-year-old Howard Murray guilty of first degree murder, burglary, destruction of property and 2 counts of battery.

The charges stem from an incident in February of 2008 when authorities say three men robbed 33-year-old Brent Butler and then stabbed him to death behind his home.

Murray was one of three suspects arrested after Butler's death.

The two other suspects 33-year-old Oscar Gibson and 20-year-old Corey Robinson reached plea agreements for the incident.

Kenny can file for appeal on his own. He does need to find cause to do so. Like the hospital records, should have had a change of juridiction, etc. Something within the case that could have caused a different outcome. If any of you talk to him let him know.

Will he file for appeal...I would contact the hospital and request a copy of the records. Can his attorney get his hands on these records and a copy of the death cert .... what is the "cause" of death on the cert??

Bottom line. This "man" KILLED someone. Weither it was intentional or an "accident", he caused the DEATH of another. Having a hard life is NO excuse for causing another's death. No one has a perfect, fairytale life and most of us learn from this. We become model citizens trying to overcome this ridiculous stereotypical way of thinking that some on this board have adopted. It is still no excuse for MURDER. These "men" took away the life of a family's loved one. Not only does his death affect his family but EVERYONE who loved the decedent. These "men" deserve to be punished to the full extent of the law. There is NO justification for what these "men" have done. I feel for ALL the families involved in this tragedy but justice must be realized and these "men" must be held accountable for their actions.
