Charleston, WV (AP) -- Gov. Joe Manchin is facing a crucial deadline to ensure success for his legislative agenda this year.

Wednesday is the last chance for most bills to pass from the chamber where they started.

More than 270 measures have crossed over so far, including just over half of Manchin's 25-item agenda.

At least seven of the Governor's bills are up for a vote Wednesday.

Among them are proposals to increase jobless benefits funding, harness alternative and renewable energy sources, and control the growth of the Promise Scholarship program.

Several of Manchin's bills appear doomed, such as his bid to reconfigure oil and gas well taxes and his proposed all-in-one gaming commission.

The session ends April 11.
