As the recession continues, more jobs are being lost in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Officials at Teknetix, a printed circuit boards industry in Parkersburg, tell us they've recently laid off 10 employees.

Officials also say this is a typical adjustment where they align their labor force with business conditions.

They say these workers made up about three percent of Teknetix' workforce.

Did anyone stop to think that maybe the owner had no choice but to lay people off? This isn't the only business in the U.S. that has done this and definitely not the last, the way the economy is he probably had no choice. Yes it's sad that some long time employees got laid off but something had to be done in order for the business to stay open. I'm sure he has made sacrifices to get where he is at. If your so jealous of him, maybe instead of sitting around wasting your time crying and blogging, you should be trying to do something about your situation!

TO: Anonymous on Apr 20, 2009 at 08:11 PM I am the D.S. that you speak of and I can assure you that I would never cryptically sign a post with my initials or use a cowardly anonymous......I don't mind people knowing who I am so please don't imply that a certain post is me. The public should be aware that most of these posts are from bitter X employees that have difficulty holding down a job at fast food joints. Although This place is not the best employer or well managed many people including myself has used this place as a stepping stone for a successful career. If this did not work for you maybe you should look at yourself as the problem. The tradgedy of these events are that currently many long term employees are being laid off not the failure of your career. People who own businesses do it to get rich...don't be jealous and please learn proper ENGLISH. I will continue to pray for the families that have and will be affected by this failure of this business. It will get worse

This place has always been a joke. When I worked there, someone did try to bring in a union and the owners threatened to move the business out of state and found reasons to fire anyone they knew was supporting the union. They force you to work crazy hours when they want you to, and then they send you home with no hours when they don't need you. They don't pay anything and have no benefits, but they sure do live well. It will never change!

that's right, the people in the manufacturing is the people that should be recognized but never will be. There was always too many chiefs and not enough indians! And they will never respect the people that did or are still now doing a great job there. It's all about them and not their employees. They have worked their employees to death without a even a thank you! or good job! The leadership there has no people skills whatsoever and only think of themselves not the people that are making them rich!!!!

Oooohhh please someone help !!!!! Teknetix is chasing people down making them turn off lights in the bathroom and break room... They say can't pay the bills God bless the people that work in the manufacturing floor but screw the leadership there. The leadership at Teknetix is running the business in the ground.... Just remember manufacturing is a reflection of leadership.....

This is for D.S. if you were still there running the plant you would of been doing all their dirty work for them like you did in the past! You didn't care about the people there, didn't show employees any respect. When you were there you were one of them to get where you was! So im sure you would of been one of the many that would of been walking those good employees out or you would of been on the chopping block also! So be glad you left when you did.

the total layoff was at least 13 and as for the company they are rediculous the company pays bairly anything with no benefits while the owner lives in luxury its a sweatshop. there management is lacking in people skills and can barely make up there minds on how to run the biz. and they dont follow labor laws either if they need you to work an extra day like on saturday they tell you friday when your leaveing which they are required to tell you by thursday if you have to work saturday and as for the Union idea if you try that there they will fire you on the spot they use the hire and fire at will policy quite literaly. ie if your looking for a job EVER dont go there unless you literaly want to be a trained monkey who gets nothing but banana peels

who ever sent the one about monkeys doing the employees job I feel for these people as a former employee of teknetix I heard this many times this is no joke this is how little the people who make money for this company are apreciated they are no more than the dirt under the owners feet. A UNION is needed here to show these owners that these are people not slaves to be used and used!!!!!!!!!!!
