Churches Celebrate Good Friday

On Good Friday local congregations came together to celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ by carrying a cross from church to church.

"This is one of the days that's very meaningful, and so churches generally will observe this," Lois Ann Pike, a participant, said.

"We have to show our faith. We have to be able to step forward, particularly in this world at this point in time when there seems to be so much strife, there seems to be so much contention, so many people worried about so many different things," Tom Linder, another participant, said.

The group was on a mission to spread the word of Good Friday, and they didn't allow the rainy weather to dampen their spirits.

"I don't mind the rain as long as I'm sent forward with and umbrella," Pike said.

Shielding against the bad weather, but exposing their faith for everyone to see.

Easter is not just about the eggs, candy, and easter bunny and I am glad that WTAP done this story to show at least a little part of what easter really is. Please get up this easter morning and thank Jesus for what he has done for you. He suffered and died so that you would have a choice to be forgiven from your sins. All you have to do is ask and you will be forgiven, no matter what your sin.
