Police Caution Against Drunk Driving

A driver who was driving under the influence could be to blame for the recent death of rookie major leagues baseball player Nick Adenhart.

This comes as a shock to folks everywhere, and police say with it being the start to a holiday weekend, drivers should take even more caution, because DUI's tend to go up on holiday weekends.

"During holiday weekends we often have an increase in OVI's and OVI related crashes, and we're just encouraging the public that if you're going to go out and have a couple of drinks, to either have a designated driver or call a cab and have them take you home instead," Katie Warden with the Marietta Police Department said.

Police say if you're caught driving under the influence you could go to jail and even lose your license.

Our officers do their job of taking drunk drivers off of the streets, and I thank all of them out there that do so. However the judges need to start doing more then wrist slapping to put these nut cases away! Everyone please be safe and have a blessed Easter!
