Columbus, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio's politically generous nursing home industry scored a lucrative victory in the budget rewrite that house democrats proposed this week.
The changes help a group that has showered statehouse politicians with tens of thousands in campaign cash over the past two years.
State campaign finance filings show that affiliates of the skilled nursing home coalition and individual nursing home executives have donated nearly half a million dollars to state lawmakers since 2007.
Among those receiving donations are House Speaker Armond Budish, a democrat, and Senate President Bill Harris, a republican.
The house budget plan restores nursing home funding that Governor Strickland had proposed cutting.
