The westward expedition of Meriweather Lewis and William Clark is being commemorated with a 200th anniversary reenactment.
It's made its way to our area this weekend, and Thursday settled along the Muskingum River.
The event coincides with the state of Ohio's bicentennial this year.
"The reception we've had from most communities in Ohio has been very festive. It makes for a real good journey," explains Peter Geary, ex-director of Discovery Expedition.
The reenactment of the expedition also includes a replica keel-boat and peerogue docked along the Ohio River.
It will remain in Marietta through Friday, and make its way to Belpre's Civitan Park this weekend.
It began earlier this year in St. Charles, Missouri, and continues until 2006.
