Our recent dry weather is allowing a lot of construction projects to make good progress.
And that goes for a major project here at WTAP-TV.
Steel arrived Wednesday for the construction of WTAP's new 460-foot tower.
It will replace a shorter tower that has served as the main transmission site for WTAP for the past 50 years.
It's expected to be completely installed by October.
Then a new UHF antenna and transmitter will be installed and activated, making possible the broadcast WTAP's signal in stereo.
Then a new digital transmitter and antenna will be put in place that will be able to put out high-definition programs.
