Morgantown, W.Va. (AP) -- He officially starts work June 30, but incoming West Virginia University president James Clements is already easing into the job.
Clements will visit the faculty senate on Monday and has been attending both on- and off-campus meetings and dinners in recent weeks.
He's also talking regularly with interim president Peter Magrath.
Spokeswoman Becky Lofstead says Clements plans to attend a June 14 dinner sponsored by the Greater Morgantown Chamber of Commerce Dinner and will travel to Washington, D.C., on June 17 for the state of the university address to lawmakers and alumni.
She says Clements is not receiving a salary during the transition but will be reimbursed for lodging, meals and other travel expenses related to university business.
