Cincinnati (AP) -- A Cincinnati food bank more accustomed to helping with hunger is now helping the needy make the switch from analog to digital television.
A line formed early on Friday when word got out that the Freestore Foodbank had about 250 digital converter boxes to hand out, first-come, first-served.
All that was needed was some id and proof of income.
The foodbank says it received about 1,000 donated converter boxes, though some were being sent to outlying counties.
The nationwide switch to digital transmission going into effect on Friday means that some older tv sets will not work without a converter.
